The Basics

Character Name: Narcissa Malfoy
PB: Nicole Kidman

Age: 45
Birthday: 2 April 1955
Wand: willow, eleven inches, unicorn tail hair
House in School: Slytherin
Bloodline: Pureblood

Political View: Being the wife of a Death Eater and taking into account the way she was raised, Narcissa agrees fully with Voldemort’s ideals for a society and the wizarding world.
Appearance

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 135 lbs.
Eyes: blue
Hair: blonde
Build: slender and feminine
Dress Style: Usually wears robes or long dresses, but they’re of fine quality, of course.

Basic Physical Description: Narcissa has always been tall and slender, just like her sisters. She has long blonde hair, which her mother always took pride in (neither of her other sisters had Narcissa’s fine, light features). She is a pretty woman with a long nose and rosy lips, but she usually has a look of disgust on her face, especially in public around half-bloods, that subtracts from her natural beauty. Narcissa’s complexion is smooth and pale without any freckles or moles.

Defining Marks: She has a scar on her right knee from falling in the yard when she was younger, but other than that, no discerning marks.
Personality

Narcissa is your typical rich stuck-up Pureblood woman, but she has many aspects that many don’t suspect or see. She has two separate personalities: the public Narcissa and the private Narcissa. In public, Narcissa is the perfectly-mannered socialite, proper in every way and always looking her best. She looks down upon blood-traitors and half-bloods and treats them with little respect – if she even speaks to them at all. She grew up attending high-society parties and knows her etiquette. She’s a gracious hostess. However, Narcissa can have her moments. If something is not going the way she planned, she's not afraid to speak up and to move it in that direction. One look or snide comment will put things back into her court, and she's not afraid to speak out about it. She can keep her son and husband in line excellently, and often plays up these characteristics. The private Narcissa is much more complicated. She can be very weak and vulnerable when it comes to her son and husband. They are her top priority, although she doesn’t show it all the time. A good example of this is asking Snape to do the Unbreakable Vow in Draco’s sixth year. Although she is sensitive when it comes to family, Narcissa is by no means a weak woman. She knows how to get what she wants and she is not hesitant or shy about doing so.

Clothes are something else she adores. Narcissa worries about looks, and always makes sure she is looking her best. The same goes for her husband and son. Draco never went without new clothes as a child, and even now she always buys him things to wear to parties and on outings. She was always wearing expensive jewelry and the finest robes and dresses growing up, and it’s no different now in middle age.
Psychology

Extrovert/Introvert:Narcissa is not as out-going as some people, but she is by no means an introvert. If there is something she wants, she will get it, and she won't rest until she does.
Boggart Would Be: Oddly enough, Narcissa’s boggart is similar to Molly Weasley’s – she sees her only son dead before her. Even though Narcissa seems cold and unfeeling, she’s a loving mother and cares for the well being of Draco. He is one of the few people she puts before herself, including her husband, whom she loves dearly. Draco’s death would be unbearable for Narcissa, and she doesn’t know if she could go on if he were to die.
Patronus Would Be: Narcissa cannot produce a Patronus. Although she received passing marks in school and did well in a handful of subjects, she never really took the time to learn to make a Patronus - she was more interested in her social life. However, if she wanted, Narcissa could learn how to cast one.
Sexuality

Straight. Anything otherwise not only would have given her mother a heart attack but would disgrace the family name.
Lifestyle

Occupation: Wife, socialite, and mother - not a housewife.
Residence: Malfoy Manor in Wiltshire
Financial Status: very well-off
Family

Parents: Cygnus Black and Druella Rosier
Siblings: Bellatrix Lestrange, Andromeda Tonks (disowned)

Narcissa’s mother was very strict when it came to raising her three daughters. They were always looking fine and polished with ribbons and bows and dainty girly dresses. They were not allowed to run around and yell outside, but rather only able to sit under the willow tree and take their tea or play with their dolls and read. As the youngest of the three girls, “Cissy” was babied and treated as a delicate china doll. She was close with her sisters in a strange way that only could be possible in the Black family. Although she is loyal to Bellatrix even now later in life, she has never been exactly a "doting" younger sister who wants to be "just like Bella". Although Bellatrix is slightly gentler to Narcissa than Narcissa is to her. She supposes it's because Bella is the oldest and is somewhat protective of her baby sister. Narcissa's relationship with Andromeda was mixed, and they hardly got on well, always bickering with each other. Cygnus, her father, was always doing some sort of work in his study or out of the manor, so Narcissa never really knew him as she knew her mother. She adored her mother in all her strictness and rules, or perhaps in spite of them. Narcissa adopted a lot of these standards for Draco, although not as stringent.

Ever since she was very little, Narcissa knew she was going to marry into a Pureblood family. Her mother would take tea with different women of predominant families and they would bring their sons with them so that the three girls could meet them. Cissy was taken with one in particular, a fair blonde boy with the surname Malfoy. Her mother told her that they were very rich and very powerful, which made Narcissa like him even more. Once at school, their relationship developed and flourished, and Narcissa was soon in love with the handsome Lucius.

When Andromeda decided to marry Muggle Ted Tonks, she was immediately disowned from the family and blasted off the family tree by Sirius’ mother. Narcissa was always taught to frown upon behavior such as this, so it was somewhat easy for her to cast off any loyalty she may have felt for Andromeda and was quickly able to shun her as the rest of the family had. The previous relationship she had with her second oldest sister wasn't exactly one of love and devotion, so in a sense she was happy to see her go. Her parents share Voldemort’s morals, and were very proud when Narcissa finally married into the Malfoy family. They were equally happy with Bella’s decision to marry Rodolphus Lestrange.
History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time

She was, of course, sorted into Slytherin, as was her entire family before her. At school she did well in most subjects, but she was by no means the star pupil. Narcissa was more interested in her social life than her class work, and never really got into learning complicated spells and potions (similar to those her husband can perform). Although she is a swift and seasoned witch, she is not as near as powerful as, say, Bella. She never held a job, even after leaving Hogwarts. It wasn’t something Narcissa was interested in doing. She wanted a husband and a family and aspired to be a great wife and parent like her mother. Besides, Narcissa never had need for a job - the fortunes of the Black and Malfoy families combined could keep them going for their entire lives if need be.

She married Lucius when she was out of Hogwarts but she was still quite young. She gave birth to her first and only son, Draco, in June of 1980. She stayed at home and raised him, teaching him to read and write before his Hogwarts education began. When he had reached a reasonable age, Narcissa would bring Draco to the personal residence of Severus Snape, who helped Draco with early schooling. This had been arranged at Draco's birth, as Snape was close to the Malfoys, and Lucius thought it best if Draco get a head start with his learning. When it was time for his professional schooling, Draco was interested in going to Durmstrang in the north and was supported by his father, but Narcissa would not allow him to go there as it was too far away from home. He was to go to Hogwarts and carry on the Malfoy legacy like his father and grandfather had done before him. She was sad but proud to see him go and was alone most days in the huge mansion because Lucius was doing work elsewhere.

When they married, Lucius was a Death Eater in Voldemort’s inner circle. Narcissa was proud of him but worried constantly, which caused much nagging on her part while she was pregnant with Draco (she hated being left alone for so long – what if the baby came and he wasn’t there?). A month after Draco’s first birthday, Voldemort fell at the infant hands of one-year-old Harry Potter. The Malfoys were forced to stay in hiding for a month until they re-emerged, claiming that their involvement with Dark wizards was not voluntary; they were under the Imperius Curse.

In the summer of Draco’s sixth year at Hogwarts, Narcissa traveled to Spinner’s End with Bellatrix to visit Severus Snape. Draco had been ordered to do something so huge that Narcissa wasn’t sure if he could handle it, and she was very worried for him – he was so young. She pleaded for Snape’s help until he finally gave in and did the Unbreakable Vow: to “watch over my son, Draco, as he attempts to fill the Dark Lord’s wishes”, to “protect him from harm”, and to “carry out the deed the Dark Lord has ordered Draco to perform” if Draco fails.

Once the war broke out, Narcissa went into hiding. She was able to do this with the assistence of Albus Dumbledore and a handful of Order members. Receiving help from them is not something she really was thrilled to be doing, but in order to protect her son and herself, it was necessary. She knew that, had Draco failed in his task, he would be punished. Narcissa's imagination went so far as to say the Dark Lord would kill her son, even though it was more likely that Draco would be punished and not allowed to be branded a Death Eater.
